Achieve Goals in Life Through Consistency

Achieve Goals in Life
The habit of consistency is, to many, a boring concept. It seems to lack excitement. However, in reality, it is just the opposite, it has in fact been proven to be the key driver to success and the most guaranteed way to ensure that you achieve goals in life. Yes, consistency can at first appear to a rather boring concept. By definition, consistency means repeating the same behaviours and habits over and over again. Being consistent means that instead of carrying out regular tasks randomly, train yourself to the task until it just becomes routine. For example, getting up an hour a day and going jogging. Habit is powerful. If you get into a habit of doing something consistently for 30 days, then it just becomes part of your routine. It is no longer a task that you must to force yourself to do. Break the habit and you have to start over again. Once you start getting into the habit mindset, you can apply it to other parts of your life and business. You may, for instance, decide to start a blog. After the initial enthusiasm has waned and you start posting more and more infrequently, then your plan will fail.  Only through consistent actions can you succeed. When emailing to a list of subscribers, you will not see any sales until you have delivered at least seven email messages. Most would be entrepreneurs just don’t have the discipline or patience to get anywhere near to sending out anything approaching seven messages. How can they expect to be taken seriously and gain the trust of the people that they are trying to cultivate! All goal require consistent effort. The likes of Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal didn’t get where they are today by sheer talent. Their status in the tennis world is a direct result of them training day after day for many years. The same goes for team sports, Successful teams don’t just show up without a plan and just get lucky and win week after week. Rather they practice and train together until the team builds a habit, this habit gives them consistency. People who go on a diet and succeed in losing weight do it through consistent habit, day in, day out they follow their diet plan. To deviate from this consistent plan will mean that the diet fails. But the longer they stick to the plan, the further developed and easier the habit becomes. A useful tip which has a great impact on forming consistent habit is to plan ahead. You may decide that you want to get fit and that you will go to the gym every day. This is great, but it’s not really a plan, more an idea. In order to ensure that you follow the plan. Don’t go to bed and in the morning decide if you feel like getting out of bed, or maybe leave the gym until after work. This will be a plan that won’t even get off the ground. You should instead, before going to bed, write down exactly what you are going to do. Decide what time you are going to get out of bed. What time you are going to leave for the gym. What you are going to do when you get there and how long you are going to do it. Putting a plan down onto paper solidifies it, it makes it real, it makes it actionable. Whatever your plan, make sure you follow it and keep following it, don’t find excuses why you can’t. By doing this, being consistent, you will slowly but surely be able to achieve your goals.
